In 2007 Victor Richardson received his largest and most prestigious commission to date: namely six very large oil paintings for the NO. 27 Bar at the newly refurbished Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin. The hotel is Ireland's oldest and most famous and over €100,000,000 was spent in its restoration.
For the Shelbourne commission Victor photographed and sketched each elevation of St Stephen's green as seen from the inside of the park. The finished paintings depict the West, North and East sides of the Green and focus on a number of well-known modern and classical buildings which are partially obscured by the beautiful flowers, trees, ponds and bridges of the gardens. The South side of the Green is naturally visible through the windows of NO. 27. Works by other eminent painters are featured throughout the hotel.
